I love our competition nights. It’s when we get to show our talents as a society to our friends and supporters some of  whom never get to see us actually performing.

As per usual the standard was very high and the judges had a hard job. All the judges thought that the standard of magic was very high. Our Magical Judge Amanda Farrell had some encouraging words for some of our newer acts and gave them some useful tips.

In the end the winner was Simon Richardson. Simon won the judges over with his charming manner and his slick performance. They were most impressed with his immaculate, multi phased, rope routine. I was totally baffled by his instant radio routine.

In second place was Darren Campbell and a stunned Tim Sullivan came third.

Special mention most go to Richard Jinks who the judges thoroughly enjoyed but had no idea how to mark him! All I can say is that if you weren’t there no explanation will be enough!

I look forward to seeing you all performing at the club soon.
